Ibiza Spain
Surrounded by beautiful seas, rich in good weather, mountains and
valleys, Ibiza entices adventure and exploration for all ages, interests
and experience.
Ibiza Sightseeing
For a small island Ibiza has plenty to show you on your holiday; beautiful beaches, enchanting countryside, history and culture.
In land you will find beautiful white washed villages, each with
their own ancient church. Explore the narrow lanes, browse the local
shops and then, perhaps, enjoy a lazy lunch on a shady terrace.
Hippy Markets
A visit to one of the famous Hippy Markets
is a must. At the markets you have an enormous variety to choose from:
the most exotic batik wraps and clothing to tailor-made leather
moccasins and a tantalising variety of East Asian silver jewellery and
trinkets. If you look around you can still find some of the original
hippies, although most of them have grey hair by now!
Las Salinas Salt Flats
One
of Ibiza's most famous landmarks. On the southern most tip of the
island, the salt fields have been in use for over 2000 years. As the
water evaporates during the hot summer months, a sparkling layer of pure
salt is left on the bottom of the lakes. One of the most beautiful
spots for sunset photos.
Ibiza Town
Ibiza Town's romantic Medieval castle, Dalt Vila, is a must see for all visitors to Ibiza. Later at night, enjoy a cocktail in the buzzing port area and see the best of Ibiza by night.
Can Marça Caves
Breathtaking sea views as you descend steeply to the entrance. Enter
this multi-level, yellow-gold world, plotting the smugglers' ancient
route with a multilingual guide. Mysteriously, silently over eons,
stalagmites and stalactites have formed into figures, temples and rocket
stations. At the heart is a spectacular Music & Light Show with a
30 ft. cascade of diamond-bright water. Open all year. Tours hourly,
summer from 10.30 - 19.30 h, winter from 11.00 - 17.00 h. Tel.: 971 33
47 76. By Puerto de San Miguel beach.
See the Villages with our Self-Drive Island Tours

local bars and restaurants and later cool off in some deserted coves.
Our island tours will show you where and how.
Ibiza Boat Charter & Sales
For exhilarating fun, gentle chilling or pure romance.... hire a boat.
Selected boat charter companies offering excursions and rentals of
yachts and motor boats both daily and weekly. It's the
perfect way to join the 'wet set' and discover the beautiful coastline
of Ibiza and Formentera
Ibiza Diving
Warm,
clear waters and over 200 kilometres of spectacular coastline make
Ibiza a popular resort for both amateur and professional divers, almost
the whole year round.
There are many excellent and qualified diving schools located around the island offering courses from Beginner up to Advanced.
Dive locations include cave dives and wreck dives. The water is particularly clear around Ibiza.
In July 2007, the cargo ferry Don Pedro sunk very near to Ibiza port. Since June 20th 2008, this wreck is now open for recreational diving !
Ibiza Watersports
Water
temperatures range
from 18º C in May to 26º in August making the island ideal for all
sorts of watersports, including waterskiing, jet skiing, sailing,
windsurfing, parasailing, kayaking, banana boat or even a
relaxing pedalo.
Most of the larger beaches have kiosks where you can rent pedaloes and
have a go on a banana boat. There are several sailing schools around
the island (Playa d'en Bossa, Las Salinas, San Antonio,
Cala Martina, Cala Pada) offering Catamaran hire and occasional
windsurf hire (you will probably need a licence). There are also several
beaches offering waterskiing and jet skiing (San Antonio
Bay, Cala Bassa, Playa d'en Bossa, Santa Eulalia) and parasailing.
More information can be found in our beaches section.
Windsurfing and Kite Surfing
Kite surfing is fast overtaking windsurfing among the island's surfers.
In the high season, there is rarely enough wind for planing conditions (but easily enough for beginners).
In early and late summer, the South wind (Sirocco) can pick up to a
good force 4 once a week, and the West wind (Mistral) sometimes comes
howling in at force 6.
The most popular beaches are Cala Martina (Es Caná), Playa Pinet (San Antonio Bay) and Playa d'en Bossa.
Of these, Cala Martina is the easiest to surf with plenty of flat and shallow water.
Playa d'en Bossa is all sand, but choppy when the South wind blows directly onshore.
Pinet Playa (between the San Antonio harbour wall and
the other side of the bay) is for the more advanced surfer, and is
trickier to get in and out, but offers wave-riding
with cross-onshore wind for experts when the West wind blows
strong. A shorty will be enough in the high season months of July,
August and September (also gives good protection from the
sun). For earlier and later months, as well as winter, think about
taking a longer wetsuit, especially for the legs.
Surfing
Surfing on Ibiza is a well-kept secret. Unless you are here for at
least two weeks during the winter months, you will rarely catch any
swell - so best leave the board at home. In winter,
particularly from October to December, waves roll in quite regularly
at Aguas Blancas, Cala Nova or Cala Jondal, depending on swell
direction.
Catamaran Sailing
You can rent catamarans on Las Salinas and Playa d'en Bossa beach. Experience is necessary.
